Ras Al Khaimah does not have a public art gallery; nevertheless, some initiatives are undertaken to present local as well as international art. The expatriate community periodically organizes art auctions and expositions. Small informal art happenings are organized at private houses. These events are free of charge and enable you to admire the artistic skills of other residents. Information about these events is shared through e-mails and through word of mouth.

Majority of the activities are in Arabic but the centre is opened to new initiatives. Traditional arts and crafts are often produced in so called Folk Arts Societies or Heritage Villages. Ocassionally, these societies organize shows or displays of their products. They are also centres for all infomration about local customs and traditions.
