Future Projects
The best way to see the future of Ras Al Khaimah is to take a glance at its ambitious and spectacular projects. The off shore islands, sports harbours, luxurious hotels, business centres, theme parks and residential quarters are just a few examples of what is designed for this Emirate. NOTE: Due to the global recession of 2008-2009, many real estate projects in Ras Al Khaimah are on hold or slowed down, however they are not cancelled and will be continued once the economical situation stabilizes.

A holiday and residential resort is being created along the beach. Four different style districts, two eco-resorts, a wellness centre, theme park, environmental centre and a harbour will be the components of this project.

Two towers situated in the heart of Ras Al Khaimah are constructed to become an essential business (free tax zone) and residential quarter in Ras Al Khaimah. There will be 349 apartments over 43 floors and facilities such as a gym and a swimming pool, to be used by its future freehold owners.
Mangrove Islands
Another project with a mix of residential, commercial and hospitality development will be conducted in the future along the Ras Al Khaimah Creek.
Al Mizra’a Gated Golf Community
Situated about 40km from the centre of Ras Al Khaimah, this community will consist of residential, recreational, sports and tourism facilities. It will have a huge park, hotel and a 27-hole golf course.

Al Marjan Island
It is a man-made island project. It will consist of five coral shaped islands, covering over 2.7 million square meters. The Marjan Island, created from over two million pieces of natural rock, will offer luxurious houses, villas, hotels, sport facilities, schools, medical centres and commercial areas. It will also house a number of resorts and residential areas such as La Hoya Bay and BAB Al Bahr.
Gateway City
This city is designed to provide a quality and comfortable lifestyle. It will be a self-sufficient city and will combine past, present and future, visible through diversity of developments and designs.
RAK Convention Centre
The RAK Convention Centre is designed as a modern complex to accommodate future business activities of the Emirate. It will be built outside the city and it will have a futuristic design using the latest in ceramic technologies.
RAK Financial City
Several modern, uniquely designed towers will form a financial hub area for regional business operations as well as offshore financial activities. Apart from offices, it will also host residential apartments, hotels and commercial areas.
The Jabel Al Jais Mountain Resort
The spectacular mountain surroundings, combined with a stylishly terraced resort, will make this a unique complex in the UAE and in the world. Other exceptional attractions will include a five-star hotel, cable car linking the resort to sea level, snow slope, climbing and abseiling centre, paragliding facilities and a falconry centre.
Dana Island
This is another sea island project that will extend for 7 km into the sea and it will host residential and commercial complexes.

Yasmin Village is a residential and commercial project with apartments facing a lake, valley and the beautiful mountains. Four-storey apartments and a high-rise tower will create this family village.
Wow – RAK Theme Park
This project focuses on entertainment and leisure facilities for tourists. Its developers designed the largest theme park in the UAE that will feature Ice Land Water Park, Planet Earth theme parks, cinemas and a 3D theatre.

A few Bollywood productions were already shot in Ras Al Khaimah in previous years. RAK Media City will, among many other activities, accommodate film-shooting initiatives and will implement ambitious plans to become the Hollywood of the East. Further plans include construction of facilities supporting the media industry, a film academy, hotels and residential areas, all reflecting the style of Hollywood.
