Overstaying |
|
|
A penalty charge of 200dhs and an additional 100dhs for each day past the visa limit is imposed on visitors who overstay. The press reported lately that a penalty for overstaying would increase considerably; however, this information has not been confirmed officially.
If the overstay extends to a significant amount of time, then a court hearing is issued and the judge will decide what penalties will occur. Keep in mind that 30 days does not mean 1 month and that your arrival and departure days are included in your visa length. Therefore, if your visa is valid for 30 days and you leave at 1am on the 31st day, this will be regarded as overstaying and you will have to pay a penalty.
Additionally, if a visitor overstays, the 1,000dhs deposit is non-refundable to the sponsor. Note also that you cannot renew your visa after its expiry date. In order to receive a new visa you need to submit a visa application from your home country. |
VISA CANCELLATION Visa cancellation must be arranged by your sponsor, whether it is your employer, business partner or a UAE resident. |
