Dear All,
With the aim of raising awareness about the importance of three fundamental waste management tools - Reuse, Reduce and Recycle, EEG initiated the Can Collection Campaign in September 1997. The campaign has since continuously gained momentum in rallying support from various sectors of the society.
This year marks the 15th cycle of the EEG’s Can Collection Campaign. To date, EEG is pleased to report that about 148,675 kgs of aluminum cans have been collected since September 1997. This action resulted in the mitigation of around 2,231.611 MT CO2 and has saved an estimated energy of 33,836.27 Billion MTU.
We would like to invite you to participate in the Can Collection Drive on 23rd of February to be held simultaneously across the seven (7) Emirates in the UAE between 9:00 am to 12:30 noon.
With the active involvement and support of Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone Authority (RAK FTZ), all participants from the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah are requested to bring their respective collections of the Aluminum Cans at the designated area of RAK FTZ on the day of the event.
Upon your confirmation, all relevant details including location maps and schedule shall be sent to you a week before the event.
