The winter season in Ras Al Khaimah has started. It is time to go outside, enjoy the weather and take part in all the major and minor attractions planned for all the residents and visitors.
CAMEL RACES Camel races are the most vivid part of the UAE culture. It is still the most popular traditional sport and nowadays a huge tourist attraction.
When: Fridays Time: from around 6.30am until 9.30am, when the temperature is still low and pleasant. Location: Al Sawan area, around 15km from Ras Al Khaimah centre. Drive towards the Airport, after about 6km from the Kharran Roundabout, turn right and then follow the main road until you will reach the track. The Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Camel RAce Festival

40th UAE NATIONAL DAY Each year on the 2nd of December, the National Day is celebrated in the UAE. This day commemorate the unification of the emirates in 1971 and formation of the modern United Arab Emirates.

AWAFI FESTIVAL This is a very popular festival, especially amongst local young people. It mainly focuses on motor sport activities, but it also provides a chance to experience local food and cultural activities.

RAK HALF MARATHON RAK Half Marathon is probably the most popular event in Ras Al Khaimah. The marathon attracts RAK residents, people from other emirates and from all over the world. The run is awarded an International Association of Athletic Federation (IAAF) Silver Label and indeed, it is a superbly organized event.

RAK TERRY FOX RUN The first RAK Terry Fox Run was held in 2010. This year it will have its third edition. It is a family event, which features a 5km distance run, a 3km distance walk, skate, ride etc. All money raised is donated to cancer research institutions in the UAE.
